Fellow Teacher Educators,

As many of you are aware, several institutions spanning multiple states in the U.S. are transitioning to all of their courses moving to online due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

For those teaching methods courses with field-based components, this puts a burden on finding various resources. We have created this page to share a list of available representations of practice (videos, 360 videos, animations, etc.), as well as a few tools for use. Some are free and some have a cost (outlined below). Some are still in development (see language for specific resources). Regardless, these are resources that various individuals and groups have put together for our use.
In using these resources, we ask that you be respectful of those depicted in the images, as well as those who have created these resources for use.

We will update this page with new resources and information as it becomes available. If you would like to share this list with others, please feel free to do so. If there are available resources (videos or similar products) for use in teacher education that you think should be included, please contact us to let us know.

LessonSketch

LessonSketch has three (3) available tools. Below is information from their team:
www.lessonsketch.org is still functional though will be decommissioned at the end of 2020. You can create online experiences for your students using an advanced account. If interested, please get a basic account and email lessonsketchhelp@umich.edu describing how you want to use it in teacher education and we’ll upgrade your account. Use at your own risk but use has been stable.

Anotemos is a new tool that upgrades the old Annotate tool from LessonSketch. Anotemos is a standalone web based software (coded in javascript non Flash) and also collaborative. You can use it to annotate videos collaboratively. In particular, instructors can create sessions for their students, using publicly available videos. Go to www.anotemos.com and create an account. Email lessonsketchhelp@umich.edu and ask for an upgrade so that you can create your own annotations and invite your students. The tool is stable but use at your own risk. It is also free for now.

Depict is a new tool that upgrades the storyboarding tool from LessonSketch. It is also standalone, web-based, and collaborative. Has been out since very recently and you really need to use it at your own risk. We’ll value your feedback and support you as much as we can. Go to
https://depict-dot-lessonsketch-20190405.appspot.com/tab/depiction and request an account. Email lessonsketchhelp@umich.edu and tell us what you want to do.

We don’t have tutorials but depending on the degree of demand, we can do hangouts to show mathematics teacher educators how to use the tools.
