In this video, fifth grade students (grade 5) are given a set of fraction number lines and asked to solve a set of fraction addition tasks (each expression corresponding with a letter). Using the Cuisenaire rods, students physically model each fraction sum and label the answer with the corresponding letter on the number line (all answers placed will spell a word).
